A bull market has to start somewhere.

FMA is UNLV’s Financial Management Association. Every Tuesday during the semester, we put someone who actually does the work in front of the students who want to do it next.
You do not need a finance major, a portfolio, or a single thing on your resume yet. You need a seat.
But you must be thinking, does this really work? Fair question. Keep scrolling.

Three steps and you’re in.

Most people think joining takes a process. It doesn’t. You show up, you check in, and you decide about the card later.

Number one: show up.

The first meeting is Tuesday, September 15, 6:00 to 7:30pm. An industry speaker most weeks, then 30 minutes of live Q&A. The room goes up on @fmaunlv.

Number two: check in.

Scan the QR at the door, or tap Check In up top. Ten seconds. That’s your attendance, your +5, and your name on the member list.

Number three: decide if it’s for you.

Come to a meeting or two first. If it fits, membership is $40 for the semester: the club roster, 15 points up the board, and it pays for the speakers and the trips.

Show up. Score points. Get known.

Nobody is keeping score of your effort except you. So we built a board that does.

Every check-in is +5. The card is +15. Say you make ten Tuesdays: that’s 50 points for doing nothing but showing up.

The top 5 sit on the leaderboard all semester, and the board sees who’s putting in the work. That’s the whole system.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge

Most of what we do is open to everyone. This is the part you compete for: four students represent UNLV in a global stock-pitch competition. You build the model that turns a company into a number, then you defend the number.

Not just another competition. An apprenticeship.
